I’m sure this film was made with great care and love, BUT what it lacked most, in my opinion, was opera singers learning to control their breathing in order to captivate us. And I agree with the other less favorable reviews that the opening scene was indeed a poor example of lip-syncing, especially since I couldn’t see Ms. Jolie breathing compared to the visuals in this film. This is a film that made me not want to watch it until the end, and I’m sorry about that. I too had high hopes for these two iconic ladies.. If they do end up there then it won’t be for the performances in this film. Patric and his son are armored van drivers. They get ambushed by Sly’s crew. Most of the film is set on a bridge with Patric and son trying to survive, Sly and his crew trying to get into said van. I’ve given it a five, I could’ve gone to six if I was feeling generous. It isn’t great but it entertained me for an hour and a half. I never considered turning off after ten minutes, which is rare these days. If you’ve nothing else to watch then give it a go. If your expectations are low then you won’t be disappointed if you hate it!

Les femmes de l’ouest du Texas sont les femmes les plus fortes et les plus ambitieuses que je connaisse. Maintenant, à part ça, l’écriture et le jeu d’acteur sont formidables. Sheridan a facilement un autre Yellowstone entre les mains s’il se débarrasse de l’excitation interfamiliale très inconfortable. Mais encore une fois, j’adore l’écriture (et le jeu d’acteur) de Sheridan et une série absolument très agréable, pour la plupart.

I’ll admit that I haven’t been keeping up with current movie releases for the past few years, as my knowledge is mostly ad hoc, based on information gleaned from my streaming services. I hadn’t heard anything about this movie until I saw it on Showtime a few nights ago, and I knew pretty much the same about everyone involved. I also rarely write notes on IMDB, but in this case I’m drawn to the undeservedly mediocre overall rating, skewed by a review that I consider absurd in every way. So, let’s get to the movie itself. As others have noted, the acting and production values may vary, but what a story! There’s more to Schindler’s List here, but this one is even more extraordinary, as the main character is in everything but a privileged position. Others have summarized the plot well; I won’t go into it here, but as fascinating as this thread is, it’s even more so the moral complexity and humanity of all the characters, even the Germans, and a directorial jungle-eyed vision that while they’re not the main bad guys here, the Soviets are almost as accountable as the Nazis for their actions during this time, with many false «Good Fights»; misnomers (as are many other things that are completely unrelated to this film, such as the Japanese-American internment, the bombing of civilians in Germany and Japan, the indifference to the plight of European Jews, etc., etc.). I’m often moved by great cinema, but I have to admit that I cry a little more when I see the backstory of the real characters in the final film (don’t miss this!). This is somewhere between an 8 and a 9 for me, but that’s the benefit of doubting the greatness of the story and boosting the overall score. I note that although this film is not Polish, it is set there, creating a duo of two of the best films of recent years, along with «Forgotten Love». Highly recommended.

"One More Time", I'm going to try to spread my love for this movie. This movie is magical, the soundtrack is wonderful, you get the feeling you're lifted up in the air, it's like you're "aerodynamic". The story might seem quite simple, basically it's a "digital love" story where the hero will have to be "harder, better, faster, stronger" in order to rescue the woman of her dreams and her music band (the "Crescendolls") from an evil record producer. The animation by Leiji Matsumoto is just so beautiful; for example, the "nightvision" You Get of the Town on Earth (probably inspired by Tokyo) is breathtaking. But, the real "superheroes" of this movie are The Daft Punk. These guys understood that a good music could lead to a "high life", they know how to move us, how to reveal "something about us". Let them take you on this space journey, whether it’s on the "voyager" shuttle or not, you will find it "veridis quo". It’s a "short circuit" (only 68 min, the length of the "Discovery" album) with yourself, you can only feel like you would want some more, like it could never have been "too long".
